Labs To Consider For Whole Body Lyme/Mold Treatment
We recommend whole body functional medicine lab testing. If you are a clinician we recommend setting up accounts with the companies below. If you are not a clinician, we recommend talking to your clinician about the tests below.
1.
Lyme Disease
- Borrelia testing

2.
Insect Infection
- We recommend using both testing mechanisms and treating based on the symptoms associated with the insect borne infection. Testing mechanisms still need large improvements. We use Vibrant Wellness for this test, please see Vibrant Link in Lyme Disease section.

Mold Markers
- Shoemaker markers (preferred) – HLA-DR, TGFB-1, MMP-9
- Urinary markers have limitations. If a healthy person comes across mold toxins, they end up in the urine as a normal part of healthy detox; therefore urinary markers will end up in the urine of a healthy person and someone with mold illness.

- Two Testing Options – The Mercury Tri-Test and the Blood Metals Test

Food Allergies / Sensitivities

- One of the things that makes Infinite Allergy Labs unique is that they test for IgG4. the complement system is an inflammatory reaction to food; When there are high levels of IgG4, it can be a sign of autoimmune disease. Slight elevations can help block the negative effects of IgEs.

Chronic Hidden Viruses
- Nagalase
- Secreted by viruses to reduce the body’s defense against pathogens.
- If slightly out of range can be a sign of chronic viral infection; if extremely out of range it can be a sign of cancer.
- CD21 (viral receptor for EBV)

Gut Imbalances
- LPS Antibodies for Intestinal Permeability
- Comprehensive Data Stool Analysis (CDSA)

- Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

Hormonal Imbalances
- DUTCH Complete Panel
- This lab does adrenal and hormonal testing
- Most up to date testing mechanism
- If you cannot do the DUTCH Hormone test, the next best is a solo salivary cortisol awakening response 30 min after waking

Other Testing Considerations
- For those with MCAS, serum tryptase is recommended.
- You can ruin a KIT mutation allele specific (D816V) Test with a bone marrow biopsy to look for primary type MCAS, which involves a genetic anomaly.
- Additionally, you can run a Serum Diamine Oxidase test to look at other histamine issues.

12.
Pyroluria
- Lab testing is possible but frequently not preformed correctly.
- Needs to be a urine sample
- Needs to be kept completely dark even by the lab or the sample is invalidated.
- HDRI is a lab that does a great test for pyroluria.
- HDRI adds ascorbic acid to their test vials for the KPU test. This is important in terms of oxygen scavenging and the validity of the sample.
- Make sure sample is taken in the dark and covered in tinfoil before leaving the room to keep the sample viable.

- Alternatively, there is a test that does a pretty good job of determining if pyroluria is a possibility.
